Budgeting and grocery shopping is one of the best ways to trim down your monthly expenses and daily spending- but there are dozens of challenges out there- especially the advice that is ultimately unrealistic. Chicken Alfredo

Chicken Alfredo is an easy dinner to do- especially easy if you already have chicken laid out/defrosted and ready to go. You can make this dish with easy pieces of chicken like pre-cut tenderloins, chicken breasts or even chicken thighs. You can add a variety of things to the pasta, chicken and sauce recipe and you can even turn it into a casserole dish sprinkled with parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs and baked! Here is the $5 recipe that complete with "fixings" (i.e oven roasted or stovetop veggies).

Chicken Alfredo Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pkg Chicken Tenderloins
  • Alfredo Sauce
  • Pasta
  • Onion
  • Garlic salt, pepper and Italian Seasoning
  • Optional Ad-on: Bacon and peas
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  • Chop onion, mince garlic and season the chicken strips
  • Drizzle olive oil on a hot, large pan and place the entire package of chicken strips (use half for leftover meals)
  • Turn the heat down and cover the pan, frequently check the chicken and flip the strips over to cook on both sides
  • Bring a pot of water to boil and then add the fettuccini pasta, drain when pasta is tender
  • Add Alfredo sauce to the now empty pot and heat
  • Remove chicken strips and let rest. After a couple minutes, chop into bite size pieces
  • Optional Steps- heat peas and/or cook bacon and set to the side
  • Mix all the ingredients together with the sauce
  • Optional: Make oven roasted vegetables- bake 4 chopped carrots with the usual garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and paprika seasoning
